The Latin American Relief Fund (LARF) is a nonprofit committed to providing vital support to migrants and refugees in Mexico. The mission of the Latin American Relief Fund is to support humanitarian organizations that assist migrants and refugees in Mexico, including Albergue ABBA shelter in Celaya, Guanajuato. Since 2018, they have offered food, shelter, medical care, legal assistance, and rehabilitation to over 150,000 people. Now, they’re focused on expanding their shelter to meet growing needs, with a $500,000 goal to fund a new Cultural Center for Human Rights.
LARF’s early success in delivering humanitarian relief quickly encountered a major constraint: capacity. With more than 34 long-term residents and increasing numbers of people seeking help, the existing shelter space became insufficient.
The need wasn’t just growing—it was accelerating.
As global migration intensified, LARF found itself operating in an increasingly urgent and complex immigration climate. While the politics around immigration policy remain contested, LARF stays laser-focused on its mission: meeting humanitarian needs with dignity, compassion, and practical solutions.
To keep up, they needed more than just funding—they needed a reliable partner to help them scale strategy, operations, and execution.
LARF partnered with Kindest to bring structure, scalability, and strategy to their fundraising efforts. With limited internal staff, they relied on Kindest to provide a powerful combination of fundraising tools and expert support:
But the partnership didn’t stop with tools.
“Denise’s experience in fundraising is a boon to us. She has provided us with practical recommendations to improve our efforts and reach more donors.” — Judith Gille, President, Latin American Relief Fund
By collaborating with Kindest on campaign planning, segmentation strategy, and donor relationship development, LARF began to transform its approach from reactive to proactive fundraising.
Kindest isn’t just a fundraising tool—it’s a growth partner. In a climate where humanitarian needs outpace
resources, nonprofits like LARF need more than software—they need strategic allies.
Through one-on-one strategic sessions, Kindest helped LARF adapt its campaign calendar, improve its messaging framework, and drive urgency around time-sensitive goals. The launch of Kindest Academy gave LARF access to additional training and donor development tools.
“Kindest is a values-aligned partner who cares about our mission and gives us the tools and advice to reach more people.”— Judith Gille
LARF’s new Cultural Center for Human Rights will offer more than shelter—it will provide medical care, education, safe housing, and a space for healing and advocacy. The $500,000 goal is bold but necessary.
With Kindest’s continued support, LARF is now more than halfway there.
